The UW System offers five term life insurance plans to help fit the individual needs of its employees. Life insurance is an inexpensive way to help you protect your assets and provide for your loved ones. Each plan provides different coverage level options and many of the plans provide benefits in addition to death benefits. Employees may enroll in one or more of the offered life insurance plans if they are eligible.
State Group Life Insurance offers coverage levels of up to five times your annual salary. There is also an option to cover your spouse or domestic partner up to $20,000 and eligible children up to $10,000. Only employees covered by the Wisconsin Retirement System may enroll in this plan.
Individual and Family Group Life Insurance offers initial amounts of employee coverage of up to $20,000, spouse or domestic partner coverage of up to $10,000, and child coverage of up to $5,000. You have a chance to increase your coverage level every year under this plan.
UW Employees, Inc. Life Insurance offers $7,000 – $33,000 of employee only coverage. Coverage is based on your age.
University Insurance Association Life Insurance offers $3,400 – $101,000 of employee only coverage. Coverage is based on your age. Only Faculty, Academic Staff, and Limited appointees who meet certain requirements are eligible for this plan and are automatically enrolled when eligibility is met.
Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance offers coverage of up to $500,000 for you and reduced coverage levels for your covered family members in the event of an accidental death or dismemberment. This plan includes Zurich Travel Assist coverage and several benefits to support you and your family after a covered loss.
