MADISON, Wis.— UW System President Tommy Thompson issued this statement today:

“The UW System’s faculty and staff are the best in the country and that has never been clearer than it has been during this pandemic. They worked to ensure our students had a safe and productive academic experience, while at the same time taking furloughs and working through incredibly difficult situations on our campuses. Today’s vote by the committee is a recognition of the vital role faculty and staff play in our campus communities, and I applaud the committee for making this investment.”
