Today, the Assembly Committee on State Affairs passed the provisions included in AB 675, legislation that will streamline the building project approval process at the Wisconsin Department of Administration.  The legislation reflects language supported by the UW System Board of Regents that was originally included in Governor Walker’s proposed 2017-19 biennial budget.  The bill was drafted in consultation with the UW System and Wisconsin Department of Administration.

Below is a statement from UW System President Ray Cross:

“College affordability is an extremely important issue for UW System, and AB 675 will help control costs by streamlining and reforming the state building process. A more efficient and less expensive process for moving building projects forward will help reduce costs for both students and taxpayers.

“I applaud the committee and authors for their support and leadership on this issue, all of whom have served or are currently serving on the State Building Commission.”
