MADISON – A new website has been launched to help University of Wisconsin students understand and comply with new state voting regulations that are taking effect, beginning with the upcoming Nov. 4 elections.

The website, located at http://wisconsin.edu/voting, includes:

  • Basic information about voting
  • Links to UW voting documents, including campus-specific information on voter-ID compliant student cards and enrollment verification documents (Enrollment verification is required if students use a campus voter ID card)
  • Links to helpful resources from the Government Accountability Board

The website was created with the help of the UW System Student Affairs and Academic Support office and System legal staff.

While the website provides detailed information, it is not meant to address every voting situation a student may face. If students have specific questions not covered on the website, they can contact the Government Accountability Board (GAB) at http://gab.wi.gov, their local municipal clerk (contact information available on the GAB website), or their local Student Affairs office.
