MADISON, Wis. – With the successful conclusion of three simultaneous chancellor searches, the University of Wisconsin System now turns its attention to recruiting and hiring new leaders for UW-Green Bay and UW-River Falls.

UW System President Kevin P. Reilly today appointed a 19-member search committee to help identify a new chancellor for UW-River Falls.

Recently, Chancellor Don Betz announced that he will leave the campus at the end of June to become president of Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

Reilly appointed 10 faculty members, two academic staff members, one classified staff member, one campus administrator, and two student representatives to the committee. They are joined by one UW System administrator and two community representatives.

Following an intensive search and screening process, the committee is expected to recommend five candidates as finalists for consideration by Reilly and a special Board of Regents committee chaired by Regent Brent Smith. Other Regents on the committee include Eileen Connolly-Keesler, Chuck Pruitt, and José Vasquez.

The campus search committee will convene for the first time at 1 p.m., June 16, 2008, in the Eau Galle River Room (Room 332) of the University Center on the UW-River Falls campus. At that meeting Smith and Reilly will officially charge the committee with its mission and roles, review procedures, and launch the search process.
