The Office of Human Resources provides leadership, policy development, guidance, and functional expertise to sustain and engage a talented, diverse workforce in one of the nation’s premier higher education systems. 

POSITION SUMMARY 

This position provides administrative support for the Office of Human Resources and offers an opportunity to gain professional-level work experience in the field of Human Resources. 

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Filing 
  • Purging files 
  • Auditing files and required documents 
  • Assist with new employee onboarding sessions 
  • Create and update forms 
  • Various office/clerical support 
  • Data entry 
  • Other business office duties as needed 

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint 
  • Good organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills 
  • Skilled in typing, data entry 
  • Attention to detail 
  • Ability to apply judgment and analysis to work performed 
  • Dependable and reliable 
  • Good communication skills 
  • Ability to work within a team and independently 

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

A good candidate for the Student Office Assistant position must have the following skills and abilities:  

  • Good communications skills.

  • Ability to apply judgement and analysis to work performed  
  • Attention detail  
  • Ability to work with a team and independently  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint  
  • Must be an enrolled technical, undergraduate, or graduate student 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior office and/or data entry experience

 COMPENSATION 

$15.00/hour 

WORK HOURS 

Flexible hours based on your schedule.  

  • Ability to work any number of hours between 7:30am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday.  
  • Availability of 30 -40 hours a week preferred during the 2024 Summer months  
  • Availability of 12 – 20 hours a week required during 2024-2025 Fall and Spring semesters  
  • Priority will be given to students who have availability for Summer 2024 and Academic Year 2024-2025.  

 WORK LOCATION 

The office location is located at 780 Regent Street in Madison WI.  

Primarily in Office –After onboarding and training, there may be some opportunities to work remote. Telecommuting agreements are subject to change at any time based on leadership decisions.
