 University of Wisconsin Extended Campus (UWEX) is the online and Continuing/Professional Education arm of University of Wisconsin System. We work in partnership with all UW System campuses to offer continuing education and lifelong learning opportunities—fulfilling the “Wisconsin Idea” of extending the university’s resources to every corner of the state. 

POSITION SUMMARY 

This position provides administrative support for UW Extend Campus Marketing & Recruiting Office and offers an opportunity to gain professional-level work experience in the field of education. 

 MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Communicating with prospective students to answer basic questions via phone and email 
  • Schedule advising appointments 
  • Create and edit forms, documents, and templates 
  • Data entry; Proofing and cross-referencing data 
  • Updating CRM Salesforce 
  • Research and other general office duties as assigned 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

 A good candidate for the Student Recruitment Assistant position must have the following skills and abilities: 

  • Communicating effectively through phone and email. 
  • Inspiring confidence in others 
  • Efficient time management 
  • Driven to achieve individual and departmental goals 
  • Ability to learn the use of software such as: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and our CRM – Salesforce. 
  • Must be an enrolled technical, undergraduate or graduate student 

 

SCHEDULE 

 Flexible hours based on your schedule. 

  • Ability to work any number of hours between 7:30am – 6:00pm Monday – Friday. 
  • Availability of 15 -20 hours a week preferred during the 2024 Summer months 
  • Availability of 10 – 20 hours a week required during Fall and Spring semesters 
  • Year-round availability is preferred but not required.  

 CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT 

Must be an enrolled technical, undergraduate or graduate student. 

 Universities of Wisconsin is required to conduct a criminal background and sexual harassment check for the selected finalist prior to employment.

 WORK LOCATION 

 Primarily Remote – Some of the initial onboarding and training will be conducted in the office. After being trained and having your work laptop set up you can do your work remotely. You have the option to work in office if you prefer or if your internet connection at home isn’t reliable. Telecommuting agreements are subject to change at any time.  

  COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS  

$14.00 – $15.00
