Information on transferring from one Universities of Wisconsin institution to another is below.
How Benefits are Affected
Your insurance and retirement benefits will automatically transfer with you (the Universities of Wisconsin is considered one employer).
Below is information on how each benefit plan may be affected by a transfer to another institution and other changes that may also happen when you change institutions.
To review which plans you are currently enrolled in log into Workday (myworkday.wisconsin.edu). Once in Workday, from the Menu in the left go to Personal, then select Benefits and Pay. In the Suggested Links, select My Benefits to access the benefits enrollment system, My Insurance Benefits.

If you are transferring to a leave earning position your current vacation and personal holiday balances will transfer.
Vacation carryover and paid leave bank hours may or may not be accepted by your new institution (policies vary by institution). Reach out to your human resources contact at the institution you are transferring to, to determine what leave hours are accepted. If the hours do not transfer to the new institution, they will be paid out to you before you transfer.

How to Make Changes
To make changes log into Workday (myworkday.wisconsin.edu). Once in Workday, from the Menu in the left go to Personal, then select Benefits and Pay. In the Suggested Links, select My Benefits to access the benefits enrollment system, My Insurance Benefits.

Beneficiary Designations
Remember to review and update your beneficiary designations when you have a life event to make sure that your benefits are paid according to your wishes. Benefit plans that have beneficiary designations include life insurance plans, retirement plans and the health savings account.
