Parkside Athletics is proud to announce the establishment of the first-ever endowed scholarship for Ranger Athletics.

Through the generosity of Nancy & Terry Paulson, the Parkside Volleyball Endowed Leadership Scholarship has been established in the UW-Parkside Foundation.

The Parkside Volleyball Endowed Leadership Scholarship will support Ranger student-athletes who demonstrate leadership ability, earn the respect of their teammates, and display pride for the University and volleyball program.

“Nancy & Terry understand first-hand the transformative experience that college athletics can play in the development of student-athletes especially here at Parkside, and they share our commitment to providing opportunities for success and for the continued growth of our volleyball program,” said Director of Athletics Adam Schemm ’08. “We appreciate their longstanding support and are grateful for this endowed scholarship that will forever impact Parkside Volleyball student-athletes.”

The Paulsons have been involved in Rangers Athletics for more than 40 years. Terry served as the head volleyball coach for nine years and is the winningest coach in Parkside Volleyball history with 267 career wins.

Nancy ’90 is a former Parkside student-athlete and team captain as a member of the volleyball team. Paulson was inducted into the Parkside Athletics Hall of Fame in 2003. In addition, she was both an academic and athletic All-American as a student-athlete at Parkside. As an alumna, she has continued to support Ranger Athletics including serving on the Athletics Hall of Fame Committee.

“We are so appreciative of this impactful gift that Nancy and Terry have given to the Parkside Volleyball program, “said Head Volleyball Coach Leigh Barea. “This gift will allow us to further enhance the volleyball program and continue to invest in our student-athletes.”

This generous gift to the volleyball program will continue Parkside’s investment in the student-athlete experience and support the overall vision and mission of Ranger Athletics in perpetuity.
