John Vodenlich, head coach of the UW-Whitewater baseball team, has been named the American Baseball Coaches Association/ATEC Division III National Coach of the Year after leading the Warhawks to the 2025 NCAA Division III National Title.
Vodenlich is now a three-time national Coach of the Year (2005, 2014, 2025) – all coming from seasons he led UWW to national titles. Since 2005, Vodenlich is one of just two coaches out of the nearly 400 institutions that compete in Division III baseball to have three national titles. Furthermore, since the first NCAA Division III baseball national championship in 1976, Vodenlich is is one of just four coaches to have hoisted the national championship trophy at least three times.
In addition to the national title that capped the 2025 campaign, Vodenlich led UW-Whitewater to the program’s 23rd Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season title, the 9th WIAC Tournament title and 26th appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament in program history, as well as a regional championship and super regional title en route to a 49-6 record.
Vodenlich was also named the WIAC Coach of the Year and ABCA Region IX Coach of the Year this season.
