Purple Wave coming to UW-Whitewater this fall

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater will launch Purple Wave – an initiative to celebrate Warhawk spirit and pride – this fall.

The campaign takes center stage September 5-6, when the Warhawk volleyball, football, women’s soccer, and men’s tennis teams host competitions on campus.

“It’s an exciting time to be a part of the Warhawk family, and we hope the Purple Wave will help generate pride and excitement around our teams, student-athletes, and coaches,” said Ryan Callahan, assistant chancellor and director of intercollegiate athletics. “I’m grateful for the support of our campus and community partners as we look to make this an annual tradition as we welcome new and returning students to UW-Whitewater.”

The Warhawk volleyball team, which finished as NCAA Division III national runner-up in 2024, hosts two matches each on September 5-6 at Russell Arena inside the Williams Center. The men’s tennis team will host multiple institutions for the Warhawk Fall Invite at the UW-Whitewater Outdoor Tennis Complex on September 5-6.

On September 6, the football team hosts Carleton for its 2025 season opener at 1 p.m. inside Perkins Stadium, and the women’s soccer team takes on Marian at 6 p.m. at Fiskum Field.

UW-Whitewater students who attend the football game will receive a free t-shirt courtesy of DLK Enterprises.

All fans attending events during the weekend of September 5-6 are encouraged to wear purple as a display of their Warhawk pride.

Join the Purple Wave and show your Warhawk pride! Shop the newest apparel at the UW-Whitewater Bookstore available in-store or online.
