The Office of Economic and Employer Engagement (OEEE) links the Universities of Wisconsin strategic plan to economic and employer outcomes. In collaboration with the Office of Policy Analysis & Research (OPAR), we provide workforce and economic benchmarking via dashboards capturing data-driven employer, talent, and community insights from Wisconsin’s critical industry sectors. OEEE and OPAR engage with campus and key stakeholders to share how these data-driven insights can inform programming, collaborations, and experiential learning goals. 

Position Summary:

The Universities of Wisconsin, Office of Economic and Employer Engagement, seeks one part-time Dashboard Assistant to begin in mid-June 2025 through the beginning of the fall semester as funding permits; approximately 12-20 hours per week; flexible work schedule between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a passion for data and analytics and an interest in entrepreneurial skills. Duties include collecting, processing, vetting, and analyzing data from various employer, workforce, university, and national database sources.  This role will assist in the maintenance and development of dashboards for the UW and external state stakeholders. Students with experience leveraging Machine Learning and/or web scraping tools are prioritized.

Additional duties include working collaboratively with OPAR and OEEE partners and stakeholders, assisting in reporting data, proofreading documents, and other miscellaneous projects and tasks as needed. Students pursuing degrees in policy, computer science, statistics, or math and who have a passion for data visualization are strongly encouraged to apply.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI.
  • Experience with python programming and/or experience using machine learning for web scraping preferred
  • Understanding of Excel, including cross-sheet functions and formula manipulation for data analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently on assigned tasks.
  • Must possess strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word.

Compensation:
$17.00 per hour
