Your success is our success.

As an undergraduate student, turn to your academic advisors as your guides, coaches, and supporters to help you get on a path to graduation and stay on that path. The most successful students communicate regularly with their advisors. Plan on connecting with an advisor at least once per semester.

  • Advisors connect you to campus resources and opportunities and support your learning and success.
  • Advisors help you learn college lingo, figure out processes, and let you know where to find things on campus.
  • Advisors help you explore your academic and career interests and achieve your educational and career goals.

Please note that academic advising is structured differently at each UW university.

Advising for Graduate and Professional Students

Advising for graduate and professional students ordinarily happens within an academic department. To learn more about graduate and professional programs and how to connect with an advisor, visit the Graduate Student page.
