If it is determined that the injury is NOT a new case, then you should re-open the old case for both OSHA and worker’s compensation purposes. For OSHA recordkeeping, you will need to update the OSHA tab in STARS Web with any of the following:

  1. an increase in severity
  2. additional days away from work
  3. additional days of restricted duty or job transfer

If the original injury occurred in a prior calendar year, the OSHA 300A annual summary that you keep on file for that year should be updated with the new totals.
