The Senior Student Affairs Officers (SSAOs) are senior-level administrators across the Universities of Wisconsin in charge of the division that provides services, support, and education that enhance student’s academic, social, and personal development. SSAOs strive to foster inclusion and work to strengthen a sustainable, educationally diverse co-curricular environment where all students have the access and support they need to achieve their educational goals.

The Senior Student Affairs Officers are responsible for ensuring effective student service delivery and student development efforts. Their primary responsibilities are leadership, management, compliance, student conduct, residence life, strategic direction, policy development, and administrative oversight of the Division of Students Affairs.

The SSAO group meets six times during the academic year for a fall and spring semester in-person meeting, three videoconferences, and a retreat at the end of the academic year. The SSAOs use their time together to discuss topics, issues, and initiatives relevant to their respective positions, students, and system-wide.
