We would love to know your language and career story!

We invite you to participate in our Professional Profiles project by completing a survey.

One of the goals of the Collaborative Language Program is to establish cross-disciplinary outreach based in part on stories from professionals that promote their career gains from having learned a world language. We are especially interested in those who are NOT teachers but have found even accidentally that knowing another language has helped in their life and/or profession. Our target audience includes but is not limited to students, parents, instructors, advisors, administrators, and other stakeholders, particularly those who may not have considered knowing other languages as an asset.

Your information given in the survey can be of great help to this project and we hope that you agree to having your answers published on the Internet.

Check out what we have from others…

Following a few survey questions we will ask your permission to make your information available to the public, through one of three options:

Option 1 – Video-Recording (yourself) and Mugshot:

In this option, you would have to video-tape yourself, answering the four survey questions related to the “reflection on your language study” section, and send us a mugshot, which will then be used to create an interactive online profile.

An example of this option can be found here (please note that your recording should have a solid quality but does not need “fancy” intros/outros, design, animations, cuts,…):

Option 2 – Voice-Recording and Mugshot:

In this option, you would have to audio-record your answers to the four survey questions related to the “reflection on your language study” section, and send us a mugshot, which will then be used to create an interactive online profile.

(The quality of the voice-recording should be solid but does not have to be a high-end production.)

Option 3 – Written Text and Mugshot:

In this option, you would send us a mugshot which will then be used in combination with your written answers in the survey to create your online profile.

Examples of this option can be found here: https://www.wisconsin.edu/collaborative-language-program/languages-and-careers/

We have created a dropbox in which you can upload your files. Connect to our Dropbox

Please make sure to follow the naming conventions for files in the dropbox:
Lastname_firstname_type of file (e.g. mugshot, audio-recording, video-recording).filetype
For example: Smith_Michael_mugshot.jpeg
