Attend an America Saves Week Event!

The University of Wisconsin is committed to helping you plan and achieve your savings goals and proud to be a participant of America Saves Week.

America Saves Week is a national campaign that is co-sponsored by America Saves and the American Savings Education Council. It encourages individuals and families to save money and build personal wealth. Take the Pledge today and commit to reaching your savings and debt reduction goals!

Many organizations throughout the state, including the University of Wisconsin and Department of Financial Institutions, are also participating in Wisconsin America Saves, a statewide initiative devoted to promoting financial awareness and encouraging financial action among people of all economic levels.

UW System Tax-Sheltered Annuity (TSA) 403(b) providers (Ameriprise, Fidelity, Lincoln, TIAA, and T. Rowe Price), Summit Credit Union, and UW Credit Union are offering workshops, credit checkups, and counseling sessions at UW institutions to educate employees on current financial news and encourage saving for your retirement years. Employees are welcome to as many events as they choose and may attend events at any institution. All events are at no cost to you!

Be sure to take advantage of everything the University of Wisconsin has to offer, including the tax benefits for saving. And don’t forget to check out the saving, budgeting and planning resources below.


How To Register

Workshops, Credit Checkup Sessions, and Counseling Sessions have different ways of registering. Please click on the event types below for instructions on how to register. When you click on a “Register Here!” link, a new tab will open in your browser and you will be taken to an external registration site.

For some events, we have provided additional registration information above the event’s list of dates.

Fidelity, TIAA, and T. Rowe Price:

These workshops have their own registration through the provider websites. Details on how to register and the registration links are provided under each specific workshop.

All Others:

Workshops presented by Ameriprise, Lincoln, Summit Credit Union, UW Credit Union, and institution staff are on the same registration. After clicking the "Register Here!" link on any of these workshops, select an institution and the form will present available options at that institution for these providers. You will need to provide your name and preferred email address.

The registration only needs to be completed once for any workshops with Ameriprise, Lincoln, Summit Credit Union, UW Credit Union, and institution staff.

All credit checkups are conducted by UW Credit Union and you must be registered to attend one. Click on the "Register Here!" link next to the institution you want to receive a checkup in order to view dates/times still available.

Counseling session registration varies by TSA provider. Details on how to register for each provider are listed below their "Register Here!" link.

Please keep in mind that you must be registered for a counseling session to attend.

Workshop events will last approximately one hour.

Come to this workshop to learn about your UW TSA 403(b) Program, your supplemental retirement savings program. A Fidelity representative will review some great reasons to save with your TSA 403(b) and discuss why you should save for retirement. Along the way, you’ll get some wit and wisdom on saving from Ben Franklin.

UW Credit Union in partnership with the University of Wisconsin System is offering the opportunity for employees to spend 30 minutes in a private, confidential appointment with a UWCU expert to review your credit score and discuss your credit report. UW Credit Union membership is not required to take advantage of this benefit. Partners from across UW System who took advantage of these free, “no-sales pitch” sessions throughout the year found them informative and beneficial. Counseling sessions are open to all employees and do not obligate you open an account with any provider. UW TSA 403(b) Program Website Updates

The UW TSA Program webpage was recently updated. Here are some highlights:

  • Education: short informational videos, provider webinars, counseling sessions with providers, group seminars at institutions
  • Enrollment: how to sign up for an account and the Salary Reduction Agreement (to start, change, or stop your deduction at any time)
  • Limits: minimum and maximum contribution limits along with a couple “catch-up” rules
  • Distribution: info on taking a distribution, required minimum distributions, taxes, and loans
  • Rollovers & Transfers: info on moving funds from a previous employer or frozen TSA provider
