Second Quarter Policy Priority Preview

Please view the document below for a listing of policy work that is anticipated will be completed in the second quarter (October 1-December 31) of FY 2021. This list has been compiled utilizing the FY 2021 SYS Policy Priority Plan, as well as input from policy owners. We have removed the summary of prior policy actions from this correspondence as we are now sending a monthly policy digest to campuses for both Regent Policy Documents and System Administrative Policy Actions.

Interim Policy Action Revision Approvals

On October 1, 2020, Interim President Thompson approved revisions to SYS 1200-02, Interim: COVID-19 Leave Policy. This interim policy action will expire on December 31, 2020.

On October 1, 2020, Interim President Thompson also revisions to approved SYS 1200-03, Interim: FMLA Expansion. This interim policy action will expire on December 31, 2020.

SYS 1200-02, Interim: COVID-19 Leave Policy 

This policy is effective upon approval. 

Summary of Policy and Policy Revisions

  • This policy provides qualified employees with COVID-19 leave to meet and exceed the UW System’s obligations under federal law.
    • The scope of this policy has been expanded to include student employees.

Affected Areas on Campuses

  • This policy revision impacts student employees within the UW system.

Campus Implementation

  • No additional resources are anticipated to implement the revisions to this policy.

Additional Communication

  • Additional communication will be provided prior to the expiration of this policy on December 31, 2020.

 

SYS 1200-03, Interim: FMLA Expansion 

This policy is effective upon approval.
