Applying for Financial Aid

Grants

Money awarded to you. Grants are financial aid that you do not have to repay—making them one of the best ways to help pay for college. Most grants are awarded based on financial need and can come from the federal government, the State of Wisconsin, or your UW university.

How to Qualify

To be considered for most grants, you will need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Tip:
Submit your FAFSA as early as possible. Some grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
