As a manager at the Universities of Wisconsin, you will use Workday to view and complete supervisory tasks for your employees. You will also use the system to approve transactions, such as purchases or expense reports. A manager’s Workday tasks might include:
- Viewing and approving your team’s time-off requests and leaves of absence, as well as timesheets
- Enrolling or assigning learning courses to your team members
- Completing onboarding setup for new hires, like sending welcome messages
- Generating reports using real-time data
- Starting a request to hire
Manager Actions in Workday
As a manager, you use Workday to hire, support, and manage your team. The expandable menus below contain information about common manager processes.
You can also use the Manager Insights Hub, which brings key team management activities together in one place. Managers can use the hub to:
- Review and approve time and absence requests
- Track staffing and onboarding transactions in progress
- Access team compensation, performance, and learning information
