Ganapathy (Gana) Natarajan is an Assistant Professor in the Industrial and Systems Engineering program in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering at UW-Platteville. Gana teaches courses in Operations Research, Production Analysis, and Engineering Management. Gana’s research interests are in Engineering Education, particularly in using learning analytics in facilitating tailored intervention strategies to promote student success.
Teaching and Learning Philosophy
“Look to your right and look to your left – in four to five years only one of you will be an engineer,” is an old adage that is held true even today in many engineering programs. Proving this wrong is the driving force behind my teaching, learning, and SoTL work. My underlying philosophical framework is simple – “a student is an individual; not just a number.”
