The Office of Finance is responsible for the conduct of all financial affairs of the University of Wisconsin System. The Senior Vice President serves as the chief financial officer to the Board of Regents, President, System Chancellors and their staffs in matters of financial policy and planning and is responsible for providing assurance of the fiscal integrity of the UW System. The major functions of Finance include UW System financial planning, financial control, administrative and Board of Regents’ policy review, trust funds investing, and financial and non-financial data reporting.
Provides leadership to build a consensus among System institutions on systemwide operating budget needs, obtains and allocates equitably the resources necessary to assist institutions, facilitates budget implementation, and assists in long-range planning.
Responsible for the administrative and investment oversight of endowment and other investable funds entrusted to the Board of Regents of the UW System.
Provides a financial environment that is secure, encourages the accomplishment of academic missions, provides timely and accurate information, and assists all levels of management in making prudent financial decisions.
