Repairs are underway after a weekend of severe thunderstorms, tornadoes and floods caused damage and power outages throughout Wisconsin. Some of the hardest hit areas were in and around Stevens Point, Wabeno and Green Bay. Governor Tony Evers declared a statewide state of emergency, directing all state agencies to provide assistance and authorizing the National Guard to assist local authorities as needed. WPS and We Energies will have more than 1,000 field and support personnel working on restoration starting Monday. A special thank you to UW Green Bay and UWO- Fox Cities campus for their efforts in assisting repair crews with lodging and other accommodations as needed.
