The DLE provides administrative benefits, as the data generated within the DLE can be used to support the preparation of reporting required in higher education for accreditation, compliance, and other administrative purposes. Furthermore, an adaptive DLE replaces the need to predict and plan within a structure of closed, tightly-knitted systems that are selected based on what we “think” will happen in five to ten years.  The DLE reduces and standardizes infrastructure, improves support, and opens the door to cross-institution opportunities for common practices, thereby freeing up resources for innovations in teaching and learning.
