Overview

All participating high schools must submit data files to Direct Admit Wisconsin during one of two submission windows in each admissions cycle. These submission windows take place in the summer and fall (see Key Dates). The data submission must include two files:

  • A .csv (spreadsheet) file with each student represented in a unique row (See below for column headings). This file should include all students who have opted to participate in Direct Admit Wisconsin, regardless of tier status.
  • A machine-readable bundle of .pdf transcripts for each student who has opted to participate.

Direct admission of students is conducted using the data contained in the .csv file; accuracy of this data is essential. Student transcripts are shared with UW universities when a Direct Admit Form is submitted, but there is no systematic review of student transcripts as part of the admission process. Spot checks of transcripts for accuracy may occur.

Below are guides with the information you need in order to submit your files correctly.

Essential File Review Processes

Conducing a thorough review of your Direct Admit Wisconsin Files is essential. Before submitting data files, all schools must conduct a Technical Review and an Academic Review. The Technical Review should be conducted by the person who is working in your Student Information System to compile the files. The Academic Review should be conducted by someone who is familiar with the students being submitted and the coursework they take.
