What is changing?

All sites and associated PowerApps/Flows are migrating to the Wisconsin M365 environment.

Why is this change happening?

  • Increase collaboration and communication.
  • Create a more sustainable, manageable IT environment.
  • Increase cybersecurity protection.
  • Be more efficient and cost-effective.

When will this occur?

Spring of 2024 (see timeline on Harmony Project webpage)

Who is impacted?

All members and guests using UWSA M365 tenant Teams & SharePoint sites. (Excludes members with @uwss.wisconsin.edu / @wisconsin.edu / @uwex.wisconsin.edu /business.wisconsin.edu / humanitieswisconsin.org using Wisconsin tenant SharePoint and Teams)

What do users need to do?

If you are a Teams or Sharepoint Site owner you will need to follow the directions found in the March Connect newsletter article.

If you have bookmarked Teams or SharePoint sites you will need to update your bookmark URL since the URL will change in the migration. Here is a list of the updated URLS: UWSA Teams & SharePoint Site URLs xlsx

Unsure if you are a Teams or Sharepoint Site owner?

You can check by searching for yourself on the two attachments below. 

MS Teams Site Owners & Guests xlsx Search for your name/email under the column labeled Owner Name.

Sharepoint Site Owner List xlsx  Search for your name under the column labeled Site Owner.

What should users expect?

  • Communications providing specific details on upcoming changes. This would include instructions, specific dates, notifications, change details.
  • Migration will occur over a weekend beginning on a Saturday and completing on a Monday. Date to be determined.
  • Expect or anticipate daily business (impact/interrupted/slow work day) for the Monday following the completion of the migration.
    • We recommend scheduling extra time to adjust to the change and confirm functionality.
