The Wisconsin Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (WI-AMTE) Annual Conference is Oct. 26-27 at UW Oshkosh. The theme is “Building Partnerships.” The opening day includes a presentation by Kevin McLeod, co-chair of the UW System Math Steering Committee and associate professor in mathematics at UW-Milwaukee, on “A College Readiness Statement for Wisconsin.” He will share the statement pdf with the audience for discussion.

Other presenters for this session include:

  • Barbara Bales of UW System and Mary Mooney of the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction presenting on “Creating Equitable PK-20 Policies and Practices: An Ecosystem Approach”
  • Kathy Devine and Deej Lundgren, both of UW System, discussing upcoming changes in the Wisconsin legislature that may impact teacher education, the legislative process, and ideas for advocacy
