Program Implementation:

Don’t forget!

Starting this year, UW Administration is not communicating to students who will not receive a Direct Admit admissions offer because they do not meet one or more of the eligibility criteria. It is up to each high school to decide how you want to notify or communicate with your “no tier” list of students.

For schools that submitted files in July:

  • To help students understand what to do next, admission offers included a link to a Next Steps video recorded by members of the UW Administration staff. See the video here!
  • If students who should have been sent an offer letter tell you they did not receive one, please have them check their spam/junk folders before contacting us.
  • If updates to student tier status need to be made because a student received no tier or the wrong tier erroneously, or if they completed a summer school course that changed their eligibility, these can be submitted in the second window in September.

For submissions in the second window:

Starting September 9th, you can submit your .csv file and transcript bundle to UW using the process designated by your SIS if you missed the July deadline.

Ensure your IT department adds our IP address and email domains to their “permitted list” so students can receive our emails. This will allow them to verify their identity and link their direct admit information to their admissions portal account.

FERPA notification with opt-in/opt-out

In order to provide you with Direct Admit WI status for admitted students, we will need to ask parents/guardians for permission to share this information back when students are opting into the program. We will provide you with a new sample template with updated FERPA and opt-in/opt-out language. Look for this updated template in the next newsletter.
