The youth protection dashboard includes total number of covered activities (not third-party covered activities) that were registered to operate at a UW university, total number of youth who participated in covered activities offering custodial care at UW universities, total number of staff (both employees and volunteers who participated in covered activities offering custodial care, total number of volunteers in sponsored youth programming in positions that require a criminal background check (CBC), total number of volunteers in sponsored youth programming in a position not required to have a CBC (person didn’t’ have significant access).
OCI provides guidance and oversight on SYS 625. The policy went live March 1, 2023, and each campus has an assigned Precollege Liaison. OCI provides resources, best practices and helps navigate three software programs; assists with facilitating discussions with OGC on youth topics, EO54, and ATCP 78 regulations. OCI also provides checklists, professional development, and mental health first aid training.
