Shared Services Operations provides payroll and benefits support to the universities that make up the Universities of Wisconsin as well as Universities of Wisconsin Administration (UWSA). Shared Services Operations provides services to over 12,000 classified and 26,500 unclassified staff, 26,000 student employees, and 2,800 fellow/scholars and research assistants. The annual payroll for the supported organizations is more than $2 billion. Shared Services Operations, along with the UW-Madison Division of Information Technology (DoIT), provides and manages the Human Resource System (or ‘HRS’), the PeopleSoft-based system for personnel, payroll and benefit data/processes for the Universities of Wisconsin.

About Diann Sypula, CPA
Diann joined UW System Administration in 2010 as the Director of Financial Reporting, and shortly thereafter was named to the position of Director of Shared Financial System (SFS) Operations, and then in 2014 moved to the Director of the HRS Service Center. Prior to coming to UW, Diann worked in the private sector for 18+ years in various roles, including leading both operational efforts and large system implementations.
Diann is a Certified Public Accountant and has extensive experience in the support and analysis of business processes. She has led multiple PeopleSoft implementations and upgrades in the areas of human resources and financials, and has had deep involvement in reporting, reconciliation and other applications.
Since 2014, Diann has led the HRS Service Center implementing significant process efficiencies, updating system functionality, while increasing security and internal controls.
