Create structures that increase students’ access to relevant content and research-based practices in the mathematics curriculum along the PK-20 education pipeline. (Equity)

Action Steps.
  1. Develop a set of PK-20, action-research, “professional learning modules” offering a process to center students’ mathematical identity in the learning and teaching of standards-based mathematics as well as the four other shifts.
  2. Participate in state and national professional associations’ efforts to improve the instructional capacity of pre- and in-service mathematics teachers and faculty, particularly around the development of equity-driven dispositions and practices. (Equity)
  3. Engage with the statewide organizations and structures that serve as vehicles for providing (or building) research-based, equity-focused professional development opportunities and communities of practice for PK-20 mathematics instructors and faculty. (Equity)
