SUMMARY:UW Student Campus Free Speech and Academic Freedom Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The Wisconsin Institute for Citizenship and Civil Dialogue (WICCD) will hold a workshop for Universities of Wisconsin students focused on free speech and academic freedom. \nParticipating students will receive a $500 all-inclusive stipend. Only 36 students will be accepted\, and registration deadline is April 4\, 2025. \nWorkshop topics include:\n• Academic Freedom\n• Regulating Speech\n• Case Studies\n• Campus Chalking Policies \nBreakfast and lunch will be provided. Their inspiring stories will underline the importance for the next generation of Americans to be active in American democracy and support democracy and human rights around the world. \nRegistration for in-person and virtual attendance required.
