Here are some examples of Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) options.\u00a0 Talk to your advisor about the options that may work the best for you given your past training and learning and your current academic and career plans.\u00a0 Not all options are offered by all universities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"cfct-module uwsa-tabs-accordions\">\n\t\t\t\t    <div class=\"bs-accordion \">\n            <div class=\"accordion-all-buttons\">\n          <a href=\"#\" class=\"accordions-showall btn btn-primary btn-xs\" role=\"button\" data-panel=\"9i8ze\"><span class=\"uw-resize-full\">Open All<\/span><\/a>\n        <\/div>\n        <div id=\"9i8ze\" class=\"panel-group\">\n        \n            <div class=\"panel panel-default \" id=\"panel_ace-credit-recommendations-service\">\n    <div class=\"panel-heading\" id=\"heading_ace-credit-recommendations-service\">\n        <h4 class=\"panel-title\"><button href=\"#ace-credit-recommendations-service\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" class=\"collapsed panel-link\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"ace-credit-recommendations-service\">ACE Credit Recommendations Service<\/button><\/h4>    <\/div>\n    <div id=\"ace-credit-recommendations-service\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse\"  role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"heading_ace-credit-recommendations-service\" role=\"region\">\n        <div class=\"panel-body copy\">            \n            \n        <p>The American Council on Education (ACE) offers college credit recommendations for military and corporate training programs.\u00a0<\/p><p>Leveraging what credit for your prior learning may be available to you through ACE credit recommendations is always a good start, because every UW university will evaluate your <a href=\"https:\/\/jst.doded.mil\/official.html\">Joint Service Transcript (JST)<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.airuniversity.af.mil\/Barnes\/CCAF\/Display\/Article\/803247\/\">Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) transcript<\/a> when you first enroll.\u00a0<\/p><p>How the CPL will apply to your degree requirements may vary based on your military training and if that training matches courses offered by your university, and the courses you need to earn your degree.\u00a0<\/p><p>There is no cost to have your JST or CCAF transcript evaluate.<\/p>                <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n            <div class=\"panel panel-default \" id=\"panel_college-level-examination-program-clep\">\n    <div class=\"panel-heading\" id=\"heading_college-level-examination-program-clep\">\n        <h4 class=\"panel-title\"><button href=\"#college-level-examination-program-clep\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" class=\"collapsed panel-link\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"college-level-examination-program-clep\">College Level Examination Program (CLEP)<\/button><\/h4>    <\/div>\n    <div id=\"college-level-examination-program-clep\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse\"  role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"heading_college-level-examination-program-clep\" role=\"region\">\n        <div class=\"panel-body copy\">            \n            \n        <p><a href=\"https:\/\/clep.collegeboard.org\/\">CLEP<\/a> consists of 33 examinations in five subject areas, including composition and literature, foreign languages, history and the social sciences, natural sciences and math, and Business. \u00a0These exams can be taken at a testing center.\u00a0<\/p><p>If taken at a DANTES approved site, current and former members of the military can take the first test in each exams category for free.\u00a0 See\u00a0resources located at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dantes.doded.mil\/examinations\/index.html\">Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES)<\/a> for more information.<\/p>                <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n            <div class=\"panel panel-default \" id=\"panel_dsst\">\n    <div class=\"panel-heading\" id=\"heading_dsst\">\n        <h4 class=\"panel-title\"><button href=\"#dsst\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" class=\"collapsed panel-link\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"dsst\">DSST<\/button><\/h4>    <\/div>\n    <div id=\"dsst\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse\"  role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"heading_dsst\" role=\"region\">\n        <div class=\"panel-body copy\">            \n            \n        <p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/getcollegecredit.com\/\">DSST<\/a> consists of 37 examinations in six subject areas, including social science, business, mathematics, applied technology, humanities, and physical science.\u00a0 These exams can be taken at a testing center.\u00a0<\/p><p>If taken at a DANTES approved site, current and former members of the military can take the first test in each exams category for free. A portfolio is an organized collection of materials developed by the learner that describes, records, and verifies learning achievements and knowledge competencies.
