As you all know, with the New Year come changes to our paychecks. When reviewing your upcoming paychecks, please remember these following changes:

  • Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) contributions will decrease from 7.0% to 6.8% on the first paycheck payable in 2015 (1/8/15 for Classified staff and 1/2/15 for Unclassified staff). Employees in the Executive retirement category will see a decrease from 7.75% to 7.7%.
  • Flexible Savings Account (FSA, formerly known as Employee Reimbursement Account (ERA)): The 2015 election will come out on the first paycheck payable in 2015 (1/8/15 for Classified staff and 1/2/15 for Unclassified staff).
  • Any changes made during the Annual Benefit Enrollment (ABE) period will take effect on the 12/23/14 paycheck for Classified employees and on the 1/2/15 paycheck for Unclassified employees. This includes any premium changes for health, dental and vision insurance plans. Remember that Individual & Family Life Insurance and UW Employee’s Inc. Life Insurance premiums may change in 2015 as they are based on your age.
  • Tax-Sheltered Annuity (TSA) and Wisconsin Deferred Compensation (WDC) contributions for 2015 will come out on the first paycheck payable in 2015 (1/8/15 for Classified staff and 1/2/15 for Unclassified staff).
  • Partners In Giving donations for 2015 will come out on the first paycheck payable in 2015 (1/8/15 for Classified staff and 1/2/15 for Unclassified staff).

As an additional reminder, classified staff must use all personal holiday and vacation carryover hours by December 31st, or they will be lost. Current year vacation will carry over to 2015 as vacation carryover.

If you made any changes during ABE (including FSA), contributed to Partners In Giving, or made changes to your TSA or WDC, please confirm that your paycheck correctly reflects your changes.
