The University of Wisconsin System is one of the largest systems of public higher education in the country and employs more than 39,000 faculty and staff statewide. Position SUMMARY

The University of Wisconsin System Administration, Service Operations, is seeking an ERP Process Specialist to join the team, and this specialist will split time between the Time & Labor/Absence Management team and the Security team. This position recommends, designs, troubleshoots, and maintains Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to support the business operations of the institution for the administration for all UW System campuses.

Remote/Telecommuting or hybrid work options may be available to Wisconsin residents.


  • Provide support for the Time and Labor/Absence Management processes within the UW Human Resource System (HRS).
  • Maintain and monitor security controls and execute security processes related to operations.
  • Research and interpret regulations, statutes and UW System policies and apply these policies for application within the system and related business processes.
  • Monitors and maintains performance metrics for system features and recommends and takes corrective/preventive actions
  • Recommends ERP system enhancements or changes that may involve custom design, optional, and third-party products
  • Troubleshoots system problems that involve ERP modules
  • Creates and updates access permissions and maintains user accounts to maintain ERP systems security through user profile management
  • Coordinates system-wide updates and installs upgrades and patches for ERP systems
  • Participates in the design, development, and implementation of test and production objects.  Defines user requirements and performs configuration, change management, and testing activities.


To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

  • Associates degree or minimum of 2 years professional work experience in Benefits, Business Services or Human Resources (e.g. travel expense processing, auditing, supplier administration, accounts payable, benefit application processing, benefit eligibility review, employee lifecycle processing within a HRIS system, applicant tracking system, etc.)
  • 1-2 years’ previous accounting/finance experience
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and judgement skills
  • Ability to independently perform work assignments
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Attention to detail


Well qualified applicants will also have a substantial amount of experience in a combination of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three plus years relevant work experience
  • Familiarity with Information Security concepts and frameworks
  • HR and/or Security certifications

Conditions of Employment

This position is a full-time, salaried (exempt) academic staff position. This is an ongoing position. The official title is ERP Administrator I.

Well-qualified candidates can expect a starting annual salary within a range of $50,000 – $65,000 commensurate with the candidate’s education, related experience, and qualifications.
