{"id":146,"date":"2019-09-06T14:12:49","date_gmt":"2019-09-06T19:12:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.wisconsin.edu\/uwc\/?page_id=146"},"modified":"2025-12-04T09:03:41","modified_gmt":"2025-12-04T15:03:41","slug":"requesting-a-transcript","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.wisconsin.edu\/uwc\/requesting-a-transcript\/","title":{"rendered":"Requesting a Former UW Colleges (2-year campus) Transcript"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Wisconsin Colleges officially closed its 13 two-year campuses in the summer of 2019.\u00a0 At the time of the restructuring, the UW Colleges were renamed Branch Campuses and each institution was aligned with a Universities of Wisconsin 4-year university within that region.\u00a0 In the fall of 2019, the Universities of Wisconsin Office of Online &amp; Professional Learning Resources (OPLR), formerly known as University of Wisconsin Extended Campus, was named the data custodian of the education records of former students who attended the UW Colleges prior to the fall of 2019.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The UW Colleges transcript remains the official academic record of these former students.<\/li>\n<li>Universities of Wisconsin OPLR uses Parchment to process transcript orders.<\/li>\n<li>Students who attended a closed UW College campus may order official transcripts only.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Fees are $9.00 per transcript request. Starting January 6, 2025, sales tax will be collected on certain document requests, including transcripts and diplomas, in compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws. This change may affect the total cost of your request based on various factors such as document type, delivery method, and location. Before completing your order, you will see a breakdown of all charges, including any applicable taxes.<\/p>\n<p>You may be requested to provide additional information or present your government issued ID before your transcript request is processed.<\/p>\n<h6>************************************************************************************<\/h6>\n<h6>The Transcript ordering process is dependent on your Dates of Attendance at the 2-Year UW College Campus<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>Use the &#8220;Order your Transcript&#8221; If there is a hold on a student&#8217;s record, such as unpaid fees, the official transcript will not be released until the hold or obligation is resolved (see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wisconsin.edu\/uwc\/collection-of-outstanding-debt\/\">Collection of Outstanding Debt<\/a>).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you were enrolled prior to 2003, please allow up to 7-10 business days for your transcript orders to be processed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Why are unofficial transcripts not available?<\/h5>\n<p>After the Universities of Wisconsin restructure, the UW Colleges student information system (PRISM) was no longer accessible to former students.\u00a0 Since access to PRISM was no longer available, the custodian of these records can only provide an official transcript.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you would like your own copy of a transcript, you may request to have an official transcript sent to yourself when placing your order.\u00a0 Transcript orders that are issued directly to the student are considered unofficial transcript copies for transferring purposes, but it can be useful to keep for your own personal records.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>What information is needed to order a former UW College transcript?<\/h5>\n<p>You will need to provide your name (including maiden), date of birth, and email address.\u00a0 Your former UW Colleges student ID number is not required to place an order.\u00a0 If you do not remember your ID number, please enter the last four digits of your Social Security Number (SSN) in the student ID field (as this information will assist with processing your order).\u00a0 An email address is required, as you will be contacted by email in the event there are problems with your transcript request.<\/p>\n<h5>What information is included on a UW College transcript?<\/h5>\n<p>An official UW Colleges transcript is a complete record of a student&#8217;s enrollment at any of the 14 UW Colleges campuses.\u00a0 Student records that include enrollments at more than one of the UW Colleges campuses are combined on one transcript.
