This is the procedure to be used with the 2019 Summer Session and Summer Service contracts and salary payments affiliated with the former campuses of UW Colleges, known as Branch Campuses.
Procedure for Summer Service Appointments for Branch Campus Employees:
Service provided by Instructors over the course of 2019 Summer Session, will be provided in service to academic departments and/or administration of the Receiving Institution. The appointments and associated payments for these efforts will follow the Receiving Institution’s payment policies and procedures. The Receiving Institution’s Academic Affairs, Academic Departments, Financial Affairs, and Human Resources will coordinate to ensure all contracts are distributed, and salary expenses will be charged to their institution.
Procedure for Summer Session Courses at one of the Branch Campuses:
Since the 2019 Summer Session is the first semester of the Fiscal Year 2020 budget, the contracts and payments associated with Branch Campus courses will follow the Receiving Institution’s payment policies and procedures. The Receiving Institution will issue all contracts, set up summer appointments with their Institution, and charge salary expenses to their Institutional Accounts.
Procedure for Summer Session Courses that are UWC Online:
Since these courses are monitored by UWC Online Administration, the associated revenue and salary expenses will also be charged to UWC Online. The salary payments for UWC Online Course Instruction will follow the payment policies and procedures of the former Institution, UW Colleges. The contracts and payments will be administered by the Office of Human Resources for UW Colleges and UW-Extension. The instructors will have summer appointments affiliated with the Branch Campuses, and an HLC Accreditation note will be added as the contracts will come from “UW Colleges” on behalf of the employee’s Receiving Institution.

Summer 2019 known variables:
- Academic Affairs – Courses will be built in PRISM
- Student Affairs – Students will register using PRISM
- Financial Services – Students will pay their tuition to the UWC Bursar’s Office. After tuition has been collected, UWC Business Services will transfer the tuition to the Receiving Institution.
- Information Technology – Employees need to have access to PRISM, and don’t need to have UWCOL appointments in HRS in order to maintain access
