INTERIM REGENT POLICY DOCUMENT WAIVER APPROVAL
On December 15, 2020, Interim President Thompson approved revisions to Interim Regent Policy Document Wavier #01: COVID-19 Grants and Contracts Waiver and Interim Regent Policy Document Waiver #02: COVID-19 Leasing of Real Property Waiver.
These interim policy actions will expire on May 31, 2021.

Interim Regent Policy Document Waiver #01: COVID-19 Grants and Contracts Waiver
This policy document waiver will expire on May 31, 2021.
Summary of Interim Policy Action
- This interim policy action waives certain requirements of RPD 13-1, General Contract Approval: Signature and Authority Approvalto allow the Executive Director and Corporate Secretary of the Board Of Regents and the President of the UW System to execute grants from and contracts with private, profit-making organizations with the value of more than $1,000,000 that would otherwise require formal approval of the Board of Regents prior to execution.
- The December 15 revision extended the expiration date from December 31, 2020 to May 31, 2021, in accordance with Board of Regents Resolution 11532.
Affected Areas on Campuses
- This waiver applies to the Office of the UW System President and the Executive Director and Corporate Secretary of the Board of Regents for grants and contracts that would normally fall under the scope of RPD 13-1.
Campus Implementation
- This waiver will not require any additional resources on campuses.
Additional Communication
- Further communication will be provided prior to the expiration of this interim policy action.
Interim Regent Policy Document Waiver #02: COVID-19 Leasing of Real Property Waiver
This policy document waiver will expire on May 31, 2021.
- This interim policy action waives the requirements of section 4 of RPD 13-2, Real Property Contracts: Signature Authority and Approval to allow the UW System President and Executive Director and Corporate Secretary of the Office of the Board of Regents to enter into leases of real property that would otherwise require Board of Regents Approval.
- The December 15 revision extended the expiration date from December 31, 2020 to May 31, 2021, in accordance with Board of Regents Resolution 11532.
