{"id":179,"date":"2014-10-07T08:52:41","date_gmt":"2014-10-07T13:52:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.wisconsin.edu\/procurement\/?page_id=179"},"modified":"2023-09-28T12:10:55","modified_gmt":"2023-09-28T17:10:55","slug":"information-for-vendors","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.wisconsin.edu\/procurement\/information-for-vendors\/","title":{"rendered":"Information for Vendors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ShopUW+ Vendor\/Supplier Resources<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Vendors\/Suppliers<\/strong>\u00a0can get more information on how to register as a Supplier with UW System on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/shopuwplus.wisc.edu\/supplier-resources\/\">ShopUW+\u202fSupplier Resources<\/a>\u00a0web page.<\/p>\n<p>The UW System uses the State of Wisconsin&#8217;s bidder list system called &#8220;VendorNet&#8221; to post all official sealed bids and requests for proposals.\u00a0 If your firm would like to receive notification of all State of Wisconsin and UW System official sealed bids and RFPs please go to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/vendornet.wi.gov\/\">VendorNet<\/a> to register your company.<\/p>\n<p>When registering you must know the various <a title=\"NIGP Code Search\" href=\"https:\/\/vendornet.wi.gov\/NIGPCodes.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NIGP commodity codes<\/a> that are applicable to the items your company can provide.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>When a bid is posted for that commodity code you&#8217;ll get an automatic e-mail alert that the bid has been posted and you can then bid on the item\/contract.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you qualify, consider becoming a Wisconsin certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE). There is a goal that all state agencies spend 5% of their purchases with certified MBE firms.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The certification process and program administration is performed by the <a title=\"Department of Administration (DOA)\" href=\"https:\/\/doa.wi.gov\/Pages\/home.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dept of Administration (DOA)<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>If you have registered as an MBE, verify that your listing(s) are in the <a href=\"https:\/\/supplierdiversity.wi.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">proper categories for buyers to logically find you<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If your business focuses on construction or remodeling we recommend that you also monitor the <a href=\"https:\/\/wisbuild.doa.state.wi.us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WisBuild website<\/a> for bid postings related to large construction projects in the state. Depending on the project type and the overall cost, many university building projects are managed entirely by the Dept of State Facilities (DSF). Please be aware that bid solicitations for these projects will not be visible on <a href=\"https:\/\/vendornet.wi.gov\/Home.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">VendorNet<\/a>, but rather are only posted on <a href=\"https:\/\/wisbuild.doa.state.wi.us\/\">WisBuild<\/a>.
