She previously served as associate professor of history and the founding director of the Kossen Center for Teaching &amp; Learning at Mississippi University for Women, where as a Wisconsin native she never fully acclimated to the Mississippi summers. Dr. Handy has extensive experience supporting an ethnically, culturally, and socio-economically diverse student body as both a faculty member and administrator, and has extended her work beyond campus by presenting and writing on active learning and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
