{"id":36747,"date":"2026-01-08T08:00:13","date_gmt":"2026-01-08T14:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.wisconsin.edu\/ohrwd\/?p=36747"},"modified":"2026-02-22T11:33:05","modified_gmt":"2026-02-22T17:33:05","slug":"2026-employee-insurance-premiums-contributions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wisconsin.edu\/ohrwd\/blog\/2026\/01\/08\/2026-employee-insurance-premiums-contributions\/","title":{"rendered":"2026 Employee Insurance Premiums &amp; Contributions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Employee insurance premiums and contributions, for participating employees, will change in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Changes beginning with the <strong>January 8, 2026 paycheck<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Health Insurance \u2013 Premiums for all plans will increase<\/li>\n<li>Dental Insurance \u2013 Premiums for most plans will increase<\/li>\n<li>Vision Insurance \u2013 Premiums will decrease<\/li>\n<li>Accident Insurance \u2013 Premiums will increase<\/li>\n<li>Individual &amp; Family Life Insurance \u2013 If you enrolled, made changes to coverage, or are in a new premium age category as of January 1, 2026 your new premium rate will start.<\/li>\n<li>Accidental Death &amp; Dismemberment (AD&amp;D) Insurance \u2013 If you enrolled or changed coverage levels your new premium rate will start.<\/li>\n<li>Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) Contributions \u2013 Employee and employer contributions will increase.<\/li>\n<li>UW 403(b) Supplemental Retirement Program (SRP) and Wisconsin Deferred Compensation (WDC) 457 Program \u2013 If enrolled, 2026 contributions will start.<\/li>\n<li>Health Insurance Opt-Out Incentive (for eligible employees who opted out of health insurance) \u2013 Incentive payment will start.<\/li>\n<li>Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Health Savings Account (HSA), and Parking &amp; Transit Accounts \u2013 If enrolled, contributions will start.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Changes beginning with the <strong>April 2, 2026 paycheck<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Income Continuation Insurance (ICI) \u2013 Premium rates will decrease effective April 1, 2026.<\/li>\n<li>State Group Life Insurance \u2013 Premium rates will increase for most age groups effective April 1, 2026. Spouse &amp; Dependent coverage premiums will not change.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reminders<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Benefits insurance premiums are deducted in the same month as the coverage month.
