Well Wisconsin Program
Well Wisconsin, administered by StayWell, is the uniform wellness program offered as part of the State of Wisconsin Group Health Insurance Program. This program is voluntary and provided at no cost to employees and spouses enrolled in the State Group Health Insurance Program. $150 Wellness Incentive
Well Wisconsin, administered by StayWell, allows employees and spouses enrolled in the State Group Health Insurance Program to earn an annual $150 incentive by completing a health screening, a health assessment and one StayWell well-being activity of your choice (by mid-October*). Here is more information on each activity:
- Health Screening: Provides a picture of the employee’s overall health; includes measurements for blood pressure, body mass index, cholesterol, triglycerides & glucose.
- Health Assessment: Captures current health behaviors through a short questionnaire focusing on stress, sleep, nutrition and physical activity.
- Well-Being Activity: Helps with overall health and well-being (examples: Sleep Well Challenge, Health Coaching, Million Steps Challenge, 21 Day Meditation Experience or the Daily Dash).
*Check the StayWell portal for the exact deadline each year and/or for additional information regarding the Well Wisconsin Incentive.
Note: Wellness incentives paid to participants through StayWell or your health plan carrier are considered taxable income.
Million Steps Challenge – Employer Challenge
This challenge* is one of the Well-Being Activities offered by StayWell. It was designed to encourage employees and spouses to stay active. Recently, StayWell has incorporated a Systemwide and Statewide Employer Challenge with the hopes that everyone steps up their game to keep moving!
How it works: Systemwide and Statewide, employers are competing against each other. Each month, the employer with the highest average steps per participant will receive the Million Steps Challenge Trophy. All participants need to do is log their activity (on a monthly basis) for the Million Steps Challenge at wellwisconsin.staywell.com.

Flu Shot Clinics
Well Wisconsin offers workplace flu shot clinics which are typically held each year between September and December. Preregistration is highly recommended. Additional information will be communicated by each institution’s human resources office. The list of flu shot clinics may also be found at wellwisconsin.staywell.com.
Note: Flu shot clinics are not part of the $150 wellness incentive.
It’s Your Health: Diabetes
This voluntary program helps employees and spouse’s enrolled in the State Group Health Insurance Program, that have Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes, manage their condition through a Certified Nurse Consultant. Participants enrolled in a non-High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) may receive insulin (and other prescriptions related to diabetes care) for a reduced fee (or no cost). StayWell will inform employees of this program if they self-identify that they have diabetes through StayWell’s health assessment or if they have a StayWell portal account and have filled an anti-diabetic prescription. Employees may voluntarily enroll (or disenroll) by contacting StayWell at (800) 821-6591 or sending an email to StayWell at firstname.lastname@example.org.
