UW-Stevens Point Symphonic Wind Ensemble to release professional recording<\/a><\/h5>\n

The Symphonic Wind Ensemble at UW-Stevens Point will release a full length recording titled \u201cEndless Horizons\u201d later this year. The recording took place in February and featured UW-Stevens Point students, faculty and guest artists in the production process.<\/p>\n

Double vision: Twins find their futures at UW-Eau Claire<\/a><\/h5>\n
Two standout May graduates in UW-Eau Claire\u2019s College of Business are described as \u201cborn leaders.\u201d Lauren Sirek is a human resources management major, and her twin brother, Jake, is a business management major. The Rosemount, Minnesota, natives say they \u201cdidn\u2019t exactly plan to attend the same college,\u201d but they are glad for their unique shared experiences as Blugold business majors.<\/p>\n

Ancient ink: Student recreates tools used in early tattooing<\/a><\/h5>\n
When \u00d6tzi the Iceman was discovered in The Alps in 1991, researchers uncovered more than remarkably preserved skin on a frozen mummy. They found over 60 charcoal-inked tattoos etched across his body\u2014permanent proof that humans have been marking their skin for over 5,000 years. For Liz Scott, a senior archaeological studies major at UW-La Crosse, \u00d6tzi was more than a fascinating discovery. He was the spark for a research project exploring how ancient people created tattoos\u2014and how modern archaeologists can better recognize the tools they used.<\/p>\n

Veteran navigates winding road to degree completion at UW-Eau Claire<\/a><\/h5>\n

When Jacob Oberg prepared to graduate with a bachelor\u2019s in professional studies from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, attending the commencement ceremony on May 16 was not part of the plan. The U.S. Marine Corps and Army veteran lives in Maryland with his wife and their two young sons. Making the trip as a family simply didn\u2019t seem possible.<\/p>\n
