Empowering educators: Innovative teacher residencies launched with donor support<\/a><\/h5>\n

Launched in 2025 with support from donors Brian and Lori Hesprich, both \u201981, UW-La Crosse\u2019s Teacher Residency Program has transformed the support system for aspiring teachers, mirroring the successful residency model long used in the medical profession. Each year, the program awards up to 10 elementary\/special education dual majors with a $30,000 scholarship, funded partly by the program and partly by the partnering school district.<\/p>\n

UW-Platteville’s new football strength coach Paul Goodman is moving like a dynamo through the Pioneers’ early morning workout in the Pioneer Activity Center, high-fiving players, handing out advice on creatine supplements and modifying exercises on the fly to help players work around injuries. Goodman has been on the job for only a few weeks, but he’s already established himself as a key figure in the Pioneers’ push toward a WIAC championship and a third straight playoff appearance.<\/p>\n

The American Players Theatre (APT) is currently running its 47th season as a language-based theater company. Laura Arnold, production manager at American Players Theatre, graduated from UW-Parkside in 2015 with a degree in theater arts concentrating in stage management and direction.
