Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Note: <\/strong>The session time is TBD and will be added here later.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Presentation title:<\/strong> A Mathematics Progression: A dialogue across K-12 and higher ed mathematics educators<\/p>\n<p><strong>Presenters:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kevin McLeod, mathematics associate professor at UW-Milwaukee and, since November 2021, UW System Math Initiative Project Team member and Math Steering Committee co-chair<\/li>\n<li>Jennifer Kosiak, mathematics professor at UW-La Crosse and, from 2017 to 2021, UW System Math Initiative Project Team member and Math Steering Committee chair<\/li>\n<li>Carrie Tirel, mathematics associate professor at the Fox Cities branch campus of UW Oshkosh and, from 2017 to 2021, UW System Math Initiative Project Team member and Math Steering Committee vice chair<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Description:<\/strong> In this session we will have an open dialogue related to best practices in the teaching and learning of mathematics across the K-16 spectrum. Join us to explore the questions, \u201cWhat does mathematics look like at the high school and college levels?\u201d and \u201cHow do our teaching practices align with each other and the 2021 Wisconsin Standards for Mathematics?\u201d\u00a0Through this open discussion, we hope to build on and strengthen a strong mathematics teaching community for our Wisconsin students.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong> The conference will be at the Green Lake Conference Center.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> The WMC conference concludes with an all day leadership conference May 6 focused on the Wisconsin Standards for Mathematics.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Note: The session time is TBD and will be added here later.
