SUMMARY:Math Steering Committee: Discussion on Joint College Readiness in Mathematics Statement
DESCRIPTION:The UW System Math Steering Committee will convene via Zoom (a link was sent June 2) to discuss the Joint College Readiness in Mathematics Statement. \nThe joint committee has collaborated on a statement to outline the necessary mathematical knowledge\, skills\, and habits for students planning to attend Wisconsin postsecondary education. Committee members (see roster) weighed in with feedback to develop the statement. They now are soliciting broader feedback from their respective institutions\, including through the Math Steering Committee as representatives of UW System institutions. The joint committee’s goal is to finalize the statement—with endorsements from the UW System Math Steering Committee\, the Wisconsin Technical College System\, Wisconsin Mathematics Council\, Inc.; and the Wisconsin Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators—in time for distribution to Wisconsin K-12 partners by the beginning of the 2022-23 school year. \n
