Reconciliation Update<\/strong><\/p>\n

On July 1, the Senate passed H.R.1<\/a>, which provides for reconciliation pursuant to title II of H.Con.Res. 14\u00a0with an\u00a0amendment\u00a0via a vote of\u00a051-50<\/a>. Vice President Vance cast the tiebreaking vote. Following further consideration, on July 3, the House of Representatives agreed to the Senate Amendment to H.R. 1 via a vote of 218-214<\/a>. \u00a0The bill was signed into law by President Trump on July 4 becoming Public Law No: 119-21.<\/p>\n

With H.R. 1 signed into law, both the House Appropriations Committee and the Senate Appropriations Committee will turn to FY26 appropriations. As appropriations bills are released, you can review them on the House Committee on Appropriations website<\/a> and the Senate Committee on Appropriations website<\/a>. As bills are released, relevant information will continue to be shared with designated campus legislative liaisons.<\/p>\n

Rescheduled House Education and Workforce Committee Hearing<\/strong><\/p>\n

On July 15 beginning at 9:15 a.m. Central Time, the House Committee on Education and Workforce will hold a hearing titled, \u201cAntisemitism in Higher Education: Examining the Role of Faculty, Funding, and Ideology.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n
