Cost Initiative<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Department of Education: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ed.gov\/about\/news\/press-release\/us-department-of-education-employees-return-work\">U.S. Department of Education Employees Return to Work<\/a><\/li>\n<li>UCIS: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/alienregistration\">Alien Registration Requirement<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>House and Senate Budget and Appropriations Updates<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On February 25, the House of Representatives adopted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/119th-congress\/house-concurrent-resolution\/14\">H.Con.Res. 14<\/a>, establishing the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and setting forth the appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034, via a <a href=\"https:\/\/clerk.house.gov\/Votes\/202550?Page=2\">vote of 217-215<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, the Senate agreed to their chamber\u2019s FY25 Budget Resolution <a href=\"https:\/\/www.budget.senate.gov\/chairman\/newsroom\/press\/chairman-graham-statement-after-senate-agrees-to-budget-resolution-to-secure-the-border-revitalize-our-military-and-unleash-american-energy\">via a vote of 52-48.<\/a> You can read more on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.budget.senate.gov\/chairman\/newsroom\/press\/chairman-graham-unveils-fy-2025-budget-resolution-to-secure-the-border-revitalize-our-military-unleash-american-energy-production-and-begin-the-process-of-restoring-fiscal-sanity\">Senate Budget Blueprint<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Given the differences between these budget resolutions, the House and Senate will need to adopt identical budget resolutions before moving forward with budget reconciliation efforts.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, in the background of this action, the House and Senate continue to work to advance legislation to fund the government beyond the expiration of the current Continuing Resolution on March 14, 2025.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UW Communication UW-Milwaukee Chancellor Mone Op-Ed: UWM has weathered cuts, delivered research to improve health and commerce UW-Madison Release: Mnookin, Isbell: Amid uncertainty, a commitment to our mission Recent Federal Actions White House: Addressing the Threat to National Security from Imports of Copper White House: Implementing the President&#8217;s &#8220;Department of Government Efficiency&#8221;
