The Committee will hear the following bill relating to UW System:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.legis.wisconsin.gov\/2019\/proposals\/sb722\"><strong>SB<\/strong> <strong>722<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u2013 Groundwater Quality <\/strong>\u2013 supporting the Center for Watershed Science and Education, creating a hydrogeologist position, funding research on phosphorus recovery and reuse, creating grant programs for counties to test wells and provide public education, granting rule-making authority, and making an appropriation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>President Cross will submit written testimony in favor of this bill similar to the testimony submitted for the Assembly companion bill.<\/p>\n<p>See the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.legis.wisconsin.gov\/raw\/cid\/1538005\">public hearing notice<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The committee will also hold an executive session and consider the following bills related to UW System:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.legis.wisconsin.gov\/document\/session\/2019\/REG\/SB712\"><strong>SB-712<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u2013<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Freshwater Collaborative<\/strong>: funding a University of Wisconsin System freshwater collaborative and making an appropriation.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/docs.legis.wisconsin.gov\/2019\/proposals\/reg\/sen\/bill\/sb709\"><strong>SB 709<\/strong><\/a><strong>&#8211; Water Policy Office<\/strong>: creating an office of water policy and making an appropriation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>See the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.legis.wisconsin.gov\/raw\/cid\/1538006\">Executive Session notice<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Senate Committee on Natural Resources and Energy will hold a public hearing and an executive session on Wednesday, February 5, starting at 10:00am.
