{"id":698,"date":"2019-08-08T10:49:54","date_gmt":"2019-08-08T15:49:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.wisconsin.edu\/staff-representatives\/?page_id=698"},"modified":"2023-08-08T12:22:35","modified_gmt":"2023-08-08T17:22:35","slug":"university-staff","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.wisconsin.edu\/governance-representatives\/university-staff\/","title":{"rendered":"University Staff"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"cfct-build-698\" class=\"cfct-build grid\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"row\"><div class=\"col-md-9 cfct-block\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"cfct-module uwsa-rich-text\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"cfct-mod-content copy\"><p>On December 12, 2012, the Board of Regents adopted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wisconsin.edu\/regents\/policies\/university-staff-governance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Regent Policy Document 20-20<\/a>, under which effective July 1, 2013, university staff may participate in institutional governance.<\/p>\n<p>The Board policy states:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>This policy enables active participation in the immediate decision-making and policy development of the institution. Active participation in governance for University Staff under this policy is not collective bargaining and will not result in a labor agreement or contract. University Staff may make recommendations, consider proposals, and raise concerns to institutional leadership.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Board policy also provides that University Staff shall have the right to structure themselves in a manner that they determine, and to select their representatives to participate in institutional governance.<\/p>\n<p>The University of Wisconsin System has a longstanding tradition of shared decision-making with the faculty, academic staff, and students.
