\/><\/a>The $24 billion of UW System economic activity generated $1.1 billion in local and state taxes\u00a0in 2016-17.<\/p>\n<p>This revenue includes taxes generated from the following sources (as shown in Figure 4):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Local property tax<\/li>\n<li>State, county, and special sales tax<\/li>\n<li>State personal income tax<\/li>\n<li>Corporate income tax<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition to this $1.1 billion, other taxes and fees \u2014 such as state fuel taxes, wheel taxes,\u00a0cigarette taxes, sports licenses and fees, permit fees, and many others \u2014 are generated from\u00a0UW System economic activity. These additional taxes amount to over $100 million.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Figure 4.
